Who are we and why select us for training?

 

We are all National Rifle Association (NRA) certified instructors in good standing who have spent years developing our knowledge of firearms and training skills, so we can train you safely and effectively. All of our instructors are active in IDPA, we shoot frequently and have extensive training in competitive and tactical shooting.

What's New with the Bob and Jon ? Rifle Class ! Yes, we are NRA certified by have gone with trainers with law enforcement and military background to teach Farnam's Urban Rifle. Click the Rifle Classes link for all the details on dates, instructor, costs, etc. We are proud to present these outstanding trainers who together have years of service to the communities and country as LEO and military. Come see what you can learn from internationally renown trainers and authors John Farnam and Len Breue, PhD.  We have worked directly with all these trainers and promise you will enjoy the class and learn things from them!

Bob Jahn and Jon Thompson are pleased to continue at INRANGE as their official range trainers. We also continue to be the official club trainers for Monticello Rod and Gun Club, but Minnesota weather favors the indoors in the fall and winter.

As NRA Certified Instructors we offer a full range of courses, but will continue to concentrate on Permit to Carry and tactical training. We also have a low cost class for new shooters who want to learn the basics and be safe with their handguns. We also offer a beginning and advanced holster class and private classes at both locations.

Bob Jahn and Jon Thompson both believe in continuous training and practice. In 2007 they became NRA Certifiied Instructors for the new Personal Protection Outside the Home Class. They also completed the intense defensive handgun class from internationally known author and defensive use of firearms expert Jon Farnam in August, 2007. Jon and Bob are both now Chief Range Safety Officers!

In May, 2008 they hosted 20 advanced shooters and completed John Farnam's Advanced Defensive Handgun with Shotgun training. In January, 2009 we earned NRA certifications as Rifle/Shotgun instructors. A new series of Rifle courses are being planned, with expert instructors leading the classes, and Jon and I assisting. SEE ABOVE for Link

We will also host John Farnam's excellent Urban Rifle class this summer. We plan to offer a variety of classes for various experience levels in Rifle/Shotgun. Our emphasis will be on Urban /Tactical Rifle and Shotgun training, aided by expert instructors in these weapons and disiplines.

Need a Utah permit, Bob and can certify you for the nation's most sought after carry permit. It allows you to carry in another 14 states! You have many options for handgun training. We offer small classes ( generally less than 12) and a student rating of over 4.6 on a 5.0 scale. We team teach and have experience training hundreds of shooters. Students range from brand new shooters to police and Force Recon Marines. References are available, and we support our students during and after the class.
