Who are we and why select us for training?
We are all National Rifle Association (NRA) certified instructors in good standing who have spent years developing their knowledge of firearms and training skills, so we can train you safely and effectively. All of our instructors are active in IDPA, we shoot frequently and have extensive training in competitive and tactical shooting.
What's New with the Instructors ?
Bob Jahn and Jon Thompson are pleased to announce we have been renewed as official club trainers for Monticello Rod and Gun Club .
As NRA Certified Instructors we plan to offer the full range of courses here, but will concentrate on Permit to Carry training for new and renewing permit holders. We also offer a beginning and advanced holster class at Monticello Rod and Gun Club. .
Bob Jahn and Jon Thompson believe in continuous training and practice. Last year they spent 30 hours becoming among the first Certifiied Instructors authorized the teach the NRA's exciting new Personal Protection Outside the Home Class. They also traveled to take a defensive handgun class from internationally known author and defensive use of firearms expert Jon Farnam in August. In December of last year Jon become a Chief Range Safety Officer and Bob earned this designation in June 2008. Both are now authorized to teach the NRA's Range Officer Course. In May of this year they hosted 20 advanced shooters and completed John Farnam's Advanced Defensive Handgun with Shotgun training. Look for Farnam's tactics and hard learned lessons to show up in our classes. John Farnam was assisted by Len Bruen, PhD whose doctorate is in crminal justice and who spend over 30 years as a police officer and as nationally known trainer and author.
Need a Utah permit, Bob can certify you for the nations most sought after carry permit that allows you to carry in another 14 states! You have many options for handgun training, we offer small classes and a student rating of over 4.7 on a 5.0 scale with experience training hundreds of shooters. References are available, and we support our students after the class.

How Are We Qualified and by Who has Certified Our Instructors
REJ Firearms Training, a division of Robert E Jahn, LLC, has been fully qualified by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension as an approved organization certified to train instructors in the Minnesota Personal Protection Act. However, REJ goes further than required by Minnesota statute and requires all its instructors to be certified by the NRA in their advanced course in Personal Protection in the Home. Several of the instructors are also certified in Personal Protection Outside the Home.
The NRA has long been recognized as the gold standard in firearms training. In addition to their NRA training, our instructors all have current training from nationally recognized tactical and competitive shooting programs.
