4 hour Class that Teaches Drawing from a Strong Side Holster, plus demos Alternative Carry Methods

What We Teach to Persons with Good Gun Safety Practices

This course requires that you are familiar with the particular gun you are using, have good handgun safety practices ingrained and are able to routinely hit targets from 2 to 12 yards. This course is designed for new permit holders and persons wanting to participate in action pistol sports to develop a safe strong side holster technique. This class is not a basic class for new shooters seeking handgun exposure, nor is it an advanced class for competition shooters or police seeking to improve their existing holster skills.

This small class is limited to 8 students and we will maintain at least a one instructor for every two students. This assures a solid learning experience with a chance to practice the skills and discuss techniques with knowledgeable NRA trained instructors.  This summer Bob and Jon spent 50 hours and hundreds of dollars to assure you receive quality training that reflects the best methods and tactics available today.

Topics specifically covered include:

Topic 1:       Equipment You Need – We often see students with the wrong equipment, 1” dress belts, nylon holsters, mag pouches              that don’t hold the magazines securely.  While we cover this in class we are also happy to meet with you prior to the class and assure that you get the right equipment, at a reasonable price.

Topic 2:        How to Draw Safely – Bob and Jon are among the first instructors to be NRA certified in Personal Protection Outside the Home.  We’ll teach you how to draw safely, with plenty of demo and practice before we move onto live fire

Topic 3:        How to Engage Single and Multiple and Targets from the Holster

Topic 4:        Demos of Alternate Carry Methods - Fanny packs, cross draw, pocket and shoulder holsters, holster purse

We have worked with students, competitive shooters and law enforcement officers and have a variety of techniques to help you understand how to safely draw and reholster firearm. We strongly believe people learn by doing so we demonstrate and you actually do the procedures demonstrated in a safe environment.

As active shooters in International Defensive Pistol Association we are familiar with many different holster types, gun belts and related equipment and manufacturers.  We can and will guide you in selecting a gun and holster that is right for you. Jon is a federally licensed firearms dealer and offers discounts on guns and equipment to current and past students.

When, Where and What Does It Cost

We have set the course cost at only $110.00. That includes all targets, course supplies and any eye and ear protection required.  We always loan students who have not selected a handgun one of ours at no charge, except for ammunition. If you don’t already own a defensive handgun wait, take the class, try a variety and let Jon fit you with the correct handgun for your needs.  The range fee, payable to Monticello Rod and Gun, is just $15.00 including $.95 state tax.  That’s $125 total!

You'll send an e-mail to Bob at rejahn@rejfirearmstraining.com or phone him at 763 497-6922 or contact Jon at RSGear@charter.net or phone 763 263-9587 to ask questions or to reserve your spot in the class.  We accept checks and credit card payments for your convenience.

What Do I Need to Bring

150 rounds of reliable ammo should be plenty, but it’s always good to have more. Eye and Ear Protection are great, if you have it already.  A reliable handgun gun, holster, mag pouch and all the magazines you have are a good thing too.
